We would like to say a special thankyou to three fundraisers who have raised over £2000 for The Sequal Trust to help provide communication aids to those with speech disorders. Kat, Pete & Jo took part in a series of challenges, initially setting out to raise £1000, but more than doubled their target raising a total £2,142!
The trio undertook five challenges, running the Birmingham 10K, climbing Mountains Snowdon & Cadair Idris, walking the Birmingham to Worcester Canal and finally completing the Wainwrights Coast to Coast walk.
The mostly unsignposted route was 192 mile longs and began in St.Bees in Cumbria crossed the Lake District, The Yorkshire Dales, The North York Moors before finally finishing at Robin Hoods Bay.
Taking over half a million steps each, Kat, Pete and Jo said: “Our feet are now a bit sore and we definitely don’t want to wear backpacks for a while but we’re so proud of how much money we’ve been able to raise for this incredible charity!”
All money raised by the trio will go towards bridging the communication gap for disabled people, through the provision of communication aids to people who are non-verbal or have incoherent speech. We can’t thank Kat, Pete and Jo enough for all the hard work and dedication that they put in to raising such a wonderful amount of money for our charity.
If you would like to help provide communication aids to those that need them, then please consider donating to our cause here.
