How we can help
Once you have registered as a member and we have received an assessment of your needs, we will open a fund raising campaign on your behalf.
After discussions with yourself, we will construct a letter to be sent to various organisations we feel may be sympathetic. We will give as much personal detail as you are happy with - how your disability arose, what communication aid we are trying to provide and how this will help you, and the funds needed to provide it.
We will keep you informed as to how your campaign is progressing. Realistically, funding usually takes between 3-6 months, due to response time. Many fund giving bodies only meet every few months to consider cases, and there is an inevitable delay. Any funds received will be held in a specific bank account on your behalf until we are able to purchase the equipment.
After you have been provided with your specialised communication aid, our staff provide a voice at the end of the phone should you have any queries. We also look after repairs and upgrades whenever necessary, and keep in touch with our members through our website and newsletters. We also have a 'penpal' service whereby members with similar problems can get in touch with each other via e-mail.
